Wedding Story
Cortona
The Story
There are loves that are born in chaos and find balance through travel. Amanda and Haris met in San Francisco. She a medical student, he a pastry chef. A chance encounter among crowded streets, coffees grabbed on the go, and lives that ran fast. From that day they started moving together. They traveled the world, collected cities, airports, temporary homes. Then they chose to stop. At least for one day.
For their elopement they chose Cortona, in Tuscany. A place suspended in time, made of warm stone, silences, and views that force you to slow down. No guests. No rigid schedule. Just the two of them. Amanda got ready calmly, Haris waited for her in a small square overlooking the hills. When they saw each other, they smiled like two people who had chosen each other a thousand times before ever saying it out loud.
I photographed slow steps through the alleys, intertwined hands, glances that spoke more than written vows. At sunset we stopped to look at the valley. No forced poses. Just a light breeze and the two of them embracing, with the same look from that first meeting in San Francisco.
Amanda and Haris are citizens of the world. But that day they had an anchor point. And I was there to tell it.
