The Story

Hamburg and Brazil, in the heart of Umbria

On September 27, 2025, Umbria delivered one of those days that seem tailor-made for a wedding. Clear sky, crisp air, clean light. Carolin, a lovely woman from Hamburg, and Ricardo with São Paulo and Brazil in his veins, chose Castello di Montignano to say yes. A choice that already says a lot about them: elegance, character, taste.

The religious ceremony took place in the castle chapel. Intimate, gathered. Carolin walked in with a decisive step, with glistening but steady eyes. Ricardo followed her with his gaze, never looking away. I focused a lot on the details: hands intertwined during the prayer, the light coming through the windows and cutting across the altar, the held-back expressions of the family members.

After the ceremony we went up to the castle roof. The light descended slowly over the Umbrian hills, the sky lit up with warm tones. Carolin and Ricardo walked close together, in silence, with that complicity that needs no words. I sought clean lines, backlighting, wide perspectives. It was an inspired, spontaneous, intense shoot.

To close it all, fireworks. The castle illuminated behind them, the sky lighting up, the guests with their noses in the air. Carolin and Ricardo held each other as the lights burst above them. A spectacular finale — but the most beautiful thing remained the way they looked at each other. And that's where I took the last photograph of a story that will never end.
