Engagement Story
New York
The Story
When Iris and Volter wrote to me about their wedding in Italy, I immediately understood that their story needed to be told from the very beginning.
She of Albanian origin, he American. They met in college, through mutual friends. One of those coincidences that starts as an ordinary evening and ends up changing your life.
We decided to do their engagement shoot in New York City. And if you choose New York, you can't do things halfway.
So we met on a Friday evening at Times Square.
I wanted the traffic, the lights, the noise, the people walking fast. I wanted the real energy of the city. No empty dawn scenarios. No perfect postcards. Just the two of them, immersed in the Big Apple, while everything around them rushed by.
Iris has a natural elegance that stands out even under a thousand neon signs. Volter looks at her with that calm confidence of someone who knows exactly who is beside him. In the middle of the crowd they seemed alone. They laughed, they stopped, they held hands while the lights of the giant screens reflected on their faces.
It was an intense, dynamic, real shoot. New York doesn't serve as a backdrop. It runs through you. And they lived it that way, with spontaneity and complicity.
This was the beginning of the story. The first chapter of a tale that from the frenzy of Manhattan will soon take us to Italy, among emotions, family, and roots that intertwine.
